V. Sashi Kumar is a committed media professional, with several years of experience in producing films and television programs. Currently being consulted by several production units in Chennai city, he is looking to make his mark as a producer of note in Tamil cinema. Sashi’s involvement in films and theater began when he was 10 years old, when he came on stage as a child artiste. Subsequently he was auditioned as a Doordarshan artiste, and acted in many of their serials. After graduation, he joined a reputed production company making programs for Doordarshan and satellite channels, as well as films and documentaries for various government departments.

This experience in production enabled Sashi Kumar to acquire a good understanding of all aspects of television and film production. He is equally as ease as a Production Manager seeing to the finer details of a film’s production, or as a Public Relations person deftly handling relations with marketing agencies and the media. He has a firm grasp of technical needs, and is used to dealing with technicians, dubbing artistes, channel representatives, and other working groups in the film and television industry.

His close association with some leading industry figures, and his confident handling of many productions enabled Sashi Kumar to start his own consultancy for production units in Chennai. This is under the name SPECTRA COMMUNICATIONS (Premier Dubbing Company in Chennai), and has been operational since 1996.
